The counties map is printed and embossed on a Swell Touch Paper with the 2 Braille letters for each county.
Two audio records are made for each county:
A. The county names
B. The capital of the county
When the user presses in the surface of each county, M6 Touch device plays the selected audio recording: the county name (for A), the capital of the county (for B) and both (for A+B).
Of course, additional information about that county could be recorded in the C and D files.
Many other maps can be carried out with the M6 Touch device.
One example is European Union Map, in this case printed on plain paper. Of course, for visually impaired children, the map should be embossed, but the M6 Touch device works similar.
Games
In the “Show me” game, the M6 Touch device plays (randomly) a record with the county name (if the A file is selected) and the user is asked to show that county, by pressing in the surface of the county. If the correct county is pressed, the S-PEAK Touch device turns to the next county. If the answer is wrong, the device plays “Wrong answer. Try again.”. The game continues until all the counties are played.
If B file is selected, the user hears the capital of the county and has to press the corresponding county in the embossed map.
An additional game is available: “Memory” game. The user hears (randomly) three different county names (or capitals of the county, depending by the A or B file selection) and he / she has to press (no matters the order) in the surface of the three counties in the map. If the answer is right, M6 Touch device asks the next three counties. If not, the user tries again. He / she can hear the question again, can jump to the next question or get the answer. The game continues until every county was asked three times.
